a night with robert smith and the cure

this video was taken july 30, 2007 in hongkong. a friend and i flew there to watch The Cure live in concert. i was unable to upload this video before due to the 10 minute limit in youtube. i cropped it to the new screen size and tweaked the audio a bit. resolution is still low though as i only used my old two mega pixel camera for this video. enjoy!

"hey" (original song. driving to work version)

i know i cant sing, so you have to excuse the voice and the background noises (but mostly the voice). i was struck in traffic on my way to work and i figured i make this video. this one is simply called "hey". i pre-recorded the guitars in the background and you can download the mp3 version in my soundclick page at http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=527333&content=songinfo&songID=9563289. lyrics below"

[UPDATE june 8, 2011: i recorded a full band version of this song check it out here: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10708888]

"HEY"

hey...i ran out of words to say but "hey"
i wanted to say though, you look so mighty fine in that dress today.
i dont know why im so intoxicated by your smile.
and i dont mind standing here frozen for a while.
no i dont mind.

hey...man my head is in such a disarray.
oh but i pray though, you understand my silence anyway.
im such a fool to think i'll be strong in front of you.
muster up the courage and say the things i wanted to.
but i dont know why i even try.

oh and i dont know why my eloquence fails in front of you.
but i go on saying things i never do.
oh how i wish im not the man i turn into
when i see you.

hey...was all i said before you smiled and walked away...

grandmas and unlocked bikes in japan

during my vacation in japan last april, i noticed that people don't lock their bikes when they park it outdoors, at all. bicycles are pretty much just left there unguarded and unsecured. and being from manila, i just found that absolutely amazing! not only that, most of the people who do ride bikes are usually old people. the old lady in this video must be at least in her seventies, and yet she rides her bike to buy stuff in the grocery. "sugoi desu ne!"
